A path to new opportunities

The North Beach Senior Center hosts the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). SCSEP helps economically disadvantaged individuals who are out of the labor market develop skills to become employed and self-sufficient. This includes minorities, individuals with limited English proficiency, and individuals with disabilities.

Seniors are encouraged to sign up for the program. Eligible seniors get paid for on-the-job training, which combines real work experience with opportunities to build useful skills.

Participation depends on program eligibility, available placements and current enrollment. An inquiry is not a job offer or a guarantee of placement.

Who is the program for?

SCSEP is designed for eligible older adults who are economically disadvantaged and out of the labor market. The program serves individuals including minorities, people with limited English proficiency, and people with disabilities.

Eligibility requirements vary, and participation depends on current enrollment and the availability of training placements. Staff can connect you with the current age, income, employment-status and other participation requirements. Please contact the center for the most up-to-date information.
